Why Interdisciplinary?
The University of Bath created ICIA to deliver arts programmes in innovatory practice including visual arts, theatre, contemporary dance and music. ICIA's ethos is that working with more than one discipline together can offer opportunities for creative exploration that working with a single subject might not.The University of Bath is currently a particularly science and technology based institution and therefore an ideal context for the development of interdisciplinary approaches to arts practice and activities. A cornerstone of ICIA's work is collaboration with the University's top quality academic departments in non-arts disciplines, (e.g. a choreographer working with a scientist) as well as working across artforms (e.g. a visual artist with a composer).
We have a range of classes and workshops led by visiting professional tutors, open to those aged 16 and above. Take a look at our programme by visiting www.bath.ac.uk/icia .
