Fashion Museum & Assembly Rooms

A world-class collection of contemporary and historical dress. Located in the magnificent Georgian Assembly Rooms, the Museum has been recently re-displayed. Special exhibitions during 2008 include: ‘17th century gloves’, ‘1977’ – a photographic display of punk and new wave bands, and ‘Dresses from History’, Georgian and Victorian highlights from the collection. Café and shop open daily.

We run a full programme of events, from family activities to illustrated talks on special subjects. We offer activities for: Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, GNVQ and 'A' level, Adult and higher education. We can also arrange tours or talks for special interest groups.

Vionnet Dresses Exhibition
